Two-Step Pound Cake

Simplest pound cake recipe around. And,in my opinion, the best. I get requests for this one pretty often.

Ingredients

  • 4 cups all purpose flour
  • 3 cups sugar
  • 2 cups butter-softened
  • 3/4 cup milk
  • 6 large eggs
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract

Directions

  1. Place flour, sugar, butter, milk, eggs, and vanilla---in that order-- in large mixing bowl
  2. Beat on low for one minute, then 2 additional minutes on medium speed of mixer.
  3. Pour into a greased and floured (16 cup) tube pan.
  4. Bake in preheated 325 degree oven for approx. 1 hour and 30 minutes or until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean.
  5. Cool IN pan for about 10 minutes, remove from pan. Let cool about one hour.

    I tried this, as poundcake is my Favorite cake ... It was Great! Try It! My oven only took an hour and 15 mins.and it was perfect ... so check closely after the hr. mark.

    O' my can't wait to try this w/ a Sweetened Squash for a topping, instead of the traditional Cool whip.......Just cooked up some yummy pumpkin Squash and OMG DELISH !!!!!!!!!!!! I always Experiment and Tweak if Necessary. Usually don't need to though............

    I couldn't get my own picture to load. The cake is much more moist than this picture shows. This is an absolute no brainer that even a novice in the kitchen can conquer.
