Say goodbye to a dry and boring turkey burger! This patty is moist and flavorful thanks to Philadelphia Cream Cheese, Kalamata olives, onion, and garlic, and the accompanying sundried tomato, cream cheese, and caper mixture will wow your taste buds. The double bonus is it is simple to prepare and can also be made with Philadelphia 1/3 Less Fat cheese. It could only be better with a new kitchen to cook it in….:-)

Ingredients

  • 6 ounces Philadelphia Cream Cheese, room temperature
  • 1/2 cup minced red onion, plus additional slices for condiment
  • 1/4 cup Italian seasoned bread crumbs
  • 3 tablespoons chopped Kalamata olives
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 1/4 pounds ground turkey
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon pepper
  • 1/3 cup sundried tomatoes in oil
  • 2 tablespoons capers
  • 4 crusty buns
  • 2 cups mixed baby lettuce

Directions

  1. 1. In a large bowl, combine 2 ounces cream cheese, onion, bread crumbs, olives, and 2 cloves minced garlic. Add turkey, salt and pepper; combine and form 4 patties. Refrigerate patties while preparing sundried tomato spread.
  2. 2. Process remaining 4 ounces cream cheese, remaining 2 cloves garlic, sundried tomatoes, and capers in a food processor until smooth, adding additional sundried tomato oil for desired spreading consistency. Season to taste with salt and pepper.
  3. 3. Cook patties on a nonstick griddle coated with cooking spray over medium-high heat 5 minutes per side or until turkey is cooked through. While patties are cooking, toast buns under broiler.
  4. 4. To serve, spread sundried tomato mixture liberally over buns and top with lettuce, patties, and onion slices.
