Tzatztiki Sauce with Lamb Gyro

There is Tzatztiki sauce, but this is the ultimate Tzatztiki sauce. This creation has a blended flavor which makes your mouth water. The mixture of the Philadelphia cream cheese Chives and onion flavor with the Greek yogurt, shallots and garlic makes it the ultimate. Enjoy!!!!

Ingredients

  • 8 ounces Philadelphia chives and onion cream cheese, room temperature
  • 2 ounces Greek yogurt, drained
  • 1 Medium shallot, sliced
  • 3 Garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 Lemon, juiced
  • 1 tablespoon Olive oil
  • 1 Medium seedless English cucumber, peeled, 1/2 moon slices
  • 6 Mint leaves, chopped
  • 4 Multi-grain Pitas, pocketed, halved and warmed
  • 1 pound Lamb gyro meat, sliced, warmed

Directions

  1. In a medium bowl, add cream cheese, yogurt, garlic and lemon juice, mix well
  2. Add salt and pepper to taste
  3. Fold in cucumbers, shallots and mint
  4. Refrigerate until service time
  5. On each dish, place the pita; fill each half with about 4 slices of gyro meat, top with a generous portion (3-4) tablespoons Tzatziki sauce
  6. Garnish and serve

    YUM Chive and Onion Cream Cheese is my favorite. This sounds like a delicious twist on a real Greek classic. Also, great video!
