Just in time for Fall......these mini crostatas are making their debut with brown sugar and cardamom tossed plums and creamy, rich Philadelphia Honey Nut Cream Cheese. A drizzle of golden, orange blossom honey is the perfect topping! They are easy and fun to make. A great way to spend time with small ones in the kitchen!

Ingredients

  • 2 refrigerated 9 inch pie crusts (from a 15 oz. box)
  • 6 ounces Philadelphia Cream Cheese Honey Nut Flavor
  • 1 small plum, pitted, sliced into 8 wedges
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cardamom
  • 1/2 cup chopped walnuts (optional)
  • 1 egg yolk, lightly beaten
  • 1 teaspoon water
  • 1 Orange blossom honey or regular honey, for drizzling over crostatas

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees.
  2. Roll out pie crusts onto a work surface. Cut out 4 (4-inch) rounds from each pie crust, to total 8 rounds. Spread 1-2 tablespoons Philadelphia Cream Cheese Honey Nut Flavor in center of each round to about 1-inch from edge.
  3. In a medium bowl, toss plum wedges with brown sugar and cardamom until well coated. Place one plum slice over cream cheese in each round, spooning any remaining sugar in bowl over plums and cream cheese. If desired, sprinkle about 2 teaspoons walnuts over plums. Fold edges of each round over filling, pleating as you go and leaving center uncovered. Place the 8 crostatas on a large baking sheet.
  4. In a small bowl, whisk together egg and water to make an egg wash. Lightly brush edge of each crostata with egg wash, so that edges adhere and remain together while baking. Bake 18-22 minutes, or until crostatas are golden and pastry is cooked through.
  5. Arrange crostatas on a serving platter. Right before serving, drizzle with honey. Serve immediately.
