I have made many costumes for my kids over the years. I use to throw an annual Halloween party for 20 plus kids. Here is a like to the few I can find photos of quickly.
My children are all grown now but we made most of their costumes. I was always nervous about putting mask on children because they can't see well out of them. We would use paints & makeup on their faces. I loved helping the kids make their costumes. It was always a family event. One year the youngest two girls wanted to be native indians. My husband helped them made actual bow and arrows out of twigs. They were so excited and we were able to teach them a little about early life in the country. We made Peter Pan & Tinker Bell...Egyptian princesses....even Gangsters.... We had our share of witches, vampires, clowns and monsters. It was always so much family fun. We sometimes worked weeks to make just the right costumes. We made scarecrows and decorated our yard with all kinds of "Creepies". We even had gravestones that we made up epitaphs for. We still have pumpkin carving parties each year but most of the costume creating has been passed on to my sons/daughters and their families. We enjoy Halloween! It is just a family fun time.
I have thrown halloween parties for almost 30 years, I love this time of year and it makes want to celebrate. I must confess I don't like the real scary stuff (I'm a big baby). Now that my kids are older they want scary costumes, I miss the Winnie the Pooh and bunny costumes from when they were little. Here's a couple of photos you might enjoy of my trick or treat station.
