I am an Army Brat that witnessed soldiers going off the war and battle bravely. I can still hear the cadence and see the soldiers matching. My father served in WWI, Korea and Vietnam. We were never financially wealthy, but knew that wealth came in different forms such as love of country and family. Like my father, my only brother became a career military man serving in the Navy and saw battle during Desert Storm and stationed at sea in the Middle Sea for years. Both served well and proudly and my heart belongs to all our soldiers especially those who laid down their lives for me in the name of freedom. Independence Day is the All-American Celebration! Now it's time to grill, eat, spit watermelons seed, throw horse shoes and watch fireworks in our faithful annual way!
