Hi Friends,
Just like so many of you, family is the most important thing to me!
I feel so blessed that God has given me these amazing little people to raise. I'm really honored to be their mom. And as if that wasn't enough, He and then he gave me the most wonderful man in world to share my life with till death do us part.
Now...that is good stuff and it really doesn't get any better.
But, after all of that cheesy-ness (get it??) it is important to note that my family has a motto. We take it oh so seriously. In fact, I put it on my wall in the kitchen where we can see it loud and clear all the time. There is no mistake in what we expect of each other. We also reserve the right to tell anyone, at any time, our Family Motto:
"Check it before you wreck it!"
Sure I could explain it here, but I think the Ross kids do it better than I ever could...(watch the video!)
So I want to know.. what is your personal credo or motto? Does your family have a saying that keeps you together? It doesn't have to be short and sweet like mine, it can be anything in the world, so please share. I am SO excited to see how my extended Philly families are living in harmony with their mantras!
Thanks for such an amazing week, and even though I sort of can't believe this was my last official week as your Appetizer Host , it doesn't mean I'm going anywhere! Stay tuned for Sheila kicking off her last Entrée week on Monday. But in the meantime...
Rock On!

Megan - I get the "it will all work out" saying repeatedly...and I say, "Sometimes, things don't work out unless YOU work to make them work out."
Also, "you can't have regrets if you do something to change them..." However, it really depends on what you regret and what you want to change. Never feel hopeless in a situation you want to change. Step forward and do what you need to do to change it. Don't be defeated prior to making that change. Don't say you can't if you didn't try. If you didn't try, that's a "won't" and not a "can't." Again, this is dependent on the particular situation because some things can't be reversed.

My not so serious one is "Chocolate is good, even when life isn't".
C'mon, it's true :)

Caryn you are so much fun. I can see the love in your family and it makes me smile!!!!
What a fun video! I also have loved reading about everyones family motto's, what a great topic. Here in the Staniec household, we have a few words we live by... first and foremost we focus on what we are grateful for eachday! I have kept a family gratitude journal and keepsake box over the years. Just a reminder that life is what you make it! Happiness is a choice! It is okay to mad, not mean! Look at the bright side! You could get hit by a bus tomorrow so make today count! If you are in your head, thinking about the past or worrying about the future, you will miss the moment your in.... STAY PRESENT... whenever possible! Patience is a virtue!... I could just go on all day with this... my chicks are always finishing my sentences since they've heard them all a thousand times.. hey it does sink in... I hope! Thanks to all of you who are sharing your families with all of us. BYW my personal favorite motto for myself is " If you live your dream, you'll love your life!" Be blessed today, monixo

Hey Caryn- just love your family video! How about 'Live and Learn' from the time we're born, that learning process begins- eventually learning to walk, talk, playing games, swimming, driving.... well you get the picture. As long as you live, keep learning something. Remember the saying: 'All I ever needed to know I learned in kindergarten'- sharing, kind, being polite to one another, all this goes a long way. Who knows maybe you can learn to cook and enter a cooking contest and win $500
....ha ha ha- anyway eat a little bit of chocolate every day, I know that makes me happy.
