Hey Everyone!
We know first hand how GORGEOUS your recipes can be, and we have a ton of lovely dishes in our RECIPE GALLERY to prove it, but if you’ve ever wondered how some cooks and chefs managed to get the perfectly sliced and julienned fresh fruits and veggies, chances are they had a little help from a tool like the mandoline.

Once used mostly in commercial kitchens, this tool is a favorite amongst at-home chefs because it can cut slices in a uniformed thickness. We can’t think of a better dish to use a mandoline for than TESS BRITT’S breathtakingly beautiful STRAWBERRY COCONUT VANILLA CREAM TART!

POP QUIZ: Since we’re all about the fresh produce this week, we have a few fun questions for you:
What was your favorite fruit or vegetable growing up?
What is your favorite vegetable to cook with?
What’s your least favorite fruit or vegetable?
Leave your answers in the Comments below, and take a peek at what your fellow RWOPers have to say as well!

Loved tomatoes-fresh off the vine, just brushed the dirt off!
Love to cook with them also. My least favorit veggies are cucumbers, mushroom and olives! I know - weird! -
I love strawberries and corn on the cob. I don't like mango or avocado. I love to cook with all veggies and fruits. -

1. Being a Georgia girl, a perfectly ripe Georgia peach of course!
2. Vidalia onion is by far the best vegetable ever. I stockpile them and they usually last until Thanksgiving.
3. I will never get over my hatred of LeSeur peas. Gross.
and by the way that is a gorgeous pie!

Seriously Mari ! You had something similar happen to you too ?! lol... that is funny. Brussel Sprouts, whew. I was nice and even tried and get this, pulled the "stash in the napkin" bit o.O ... I always try to play safe when cooking for strangers... green beans, mac n cheese. My luck, they'd be lactose intolerant though LOL ~ Thanks for the pat on the back from both of ya's Mari and Kathy <3 -
Specifically, I love Blue Lake green beans. It has been my favorite vegetable my entire life. My favorite vegetable to cook with is, hands down, Vadalia onions. I have two vegetables which I don't like at all.... beets and eggplant. I eat everything else you can grow. -

Favorite fruit was the strawberry, now it is peaches and mangoes. Favorite veggie was broccoli, now it is beets and brussel sprouts. My favorite veggie to cook with is onions. I really like all fruits and veggies so it is hard to pick. I guess I do not like starfruit unless they are overly ripe. OH - I dispise fennel becasue I really dislike anise flavors!! -
Pam I had to laugh at your story! I had something just like that happen to me! I always wondered who would serve brussel sprouts to guests. I guess lots of people do! lol -
