My favorite comfort food is chili. I have been making it for years and my whole family loves it. I recently switched to turkey chili instead of using beef and they still eat it. Knowing there is a pot of chili going when you have to dig out snow really gives you something to look forward to. -
My dads Buttermilk Pound cake. He and I could make one side by side and his would always come out lighter and beautiful. I miss him SO. -
My favorite comfort food is chicken, sausage, and shrimp gumbo. In louisiana, at the first cold snap, every household cooks up their own recipe of gumbo. These days, i live in florida, but i brought my cajun roots with me. The first remotely cool evening, i make gumbo and my friends nearly fight me for it, so i have to make enough to share with a bunch of people. My favorite thing is putting on some girly cute flannel pj's, covering up with a throw and getting all comfy on the sofa while eating my file' gumbo and watching a great movie. French bread and sweet tea completes it! -
Mashed potatoes and corn. That was a staple in our house growing up. It was my craving when I was pregnant with my daughter and still love it today. -
Daddy would always get a big bowl of snow starting with the second snow. Then Mama made it into snow cream. That's the best vanilla ice cream a person can have. Wish snow tasted as good now. -

My dad's hot chocolate made from his own mix. My favorite memory of it was when he made me a coffee can full of the mix for me to take to college. -
Grilled cheese sandwich with tomato soup.....dip the bread in:0)I make it for my kids...that is the best memory! -
Hamburger corn pie. My mom rarely made this growing up because her and I were the only two that really liked it. I have since turned it into shepherds pie because my husband likes the potatoes better than the cornbread. -
What’s your favorite comfort food, and what's your favorite memory eating it?
Old fashioned dumplings. Egg, flour, baking powder and salt... dropped from a spoon into boiling water; season with just butter, salt and pepper. I'm suddenly 4 years old again and all is right with the world. -
Pot Roast with gravy with gramma on Sundays... so tender and moist. My favorite was just eating the gravy and bread. No meat really needed actually :) -
my moms turky soup. when ever any of us would get sick my mom made that and it always made us feel better to this day any of us gets sick i make my moms turky soup my grandkids love it.and it will always put a smile on my face thinking of her. R.I,P mom thank you -
One of my favorite comfort foods is my homemade Hawaiian Pineapple Banana Nut Bread. I make it in mini muffins so that I can toss a few into a zip lock bag and put them in my purse and always have a snack, I also freeze them so that I always have them on hand for when my brand-baby, Stormie comes over. She loves her nanna muffins. -
Mom's fresh berry pie with vanilla ice cream. Everything was made from scratch, with LOTS of love. MMMM -
I don't make casseroles because I think they are too fattening…except this one.. I use the KRAFT Homestyle Mac and Cheese mix, turkey smoked sausage, canned greens and a few Cajun seasonings -- I mix in a little Philly 1/3 less fat onion and chive, and I bake it. I create a meal that everyone loves. I call it Mardi Gras Mac and Cheese. -
Mmmmmmmmmmmm lobster with butter if I can but will be oh so happy with homemade baked beans or chili...erg then there is the real top of the list and that'd be PIZZA! I didn't want to copy Moni but she hit the nail on the head. Melted cheese, herb flavored sauce and veggies on a thin crust always makes my day!! I'd eat all day every day lol. A new food prosessor could make prepaing these comfort foods a breeze! -
Bananna cream pudding with vanilla wafers all around the bowl. As a kid my mom would make this, then after dinner, my parents would let me serve myself! Wow. What a memory. -
My mom's chicken fried steak and gravy. She always made it for my dad's birthday. I have pictures of me as a teenager sitting next to my dad with a party hat on and there is the chicken fried steak on the table! -
I would still have to say my husbands family recipe for Stromboli is my favorite comfort food. It is good year around, rain or shine. -
I miss my Dad's Crispy Pata, this crispy popular Filipino pork dish is one he usually cooks and bring with him when he visits me at the dorm I stayed in during my College years. Dorm food was nothing to shout about so everytime my Dad came with such a savory dish like Crispy Pata, it sure would be devoured in no time. Lol -
Not really a food, Dr Pepper, was what my brother and I had in common with Daddy. We all loved drinking it and had it every day. When Daddy was dying, I brought him some bottled Dr Pepper and we drank it together. It made him happy till the end. -
One of my favorite foods is chicken & dumplings. My grandmother always let me roll the dough when I was litte. Mine will never be as good as hers was but I try really hard. -
My comfort food has always been chicken and makes potatoes. My favorite memory eating itis the freshest in my mind; we served it at my twins birthday party yesterday and it received several compliments. -
My favorite comfort food is crispy home fried chicken and mashed potatoes with cucumber salad. I remember Sunday meals growing up with family stopping by to enjoy a feast fit for a king. -
Breakfast any time of day. Reminds me of growing up, we always had a family breakfast every weekend. Sometimes my dad would make SOS, so good.
