I agree Lark, they are addicting. My son is the Rice Krispies treat monster in our house. I can make this the original way and he is happy. My daughter in the other hand likes it when I add M&M or dip in chocolate. I am not much of a baker so this kind of easy treats makes my life easier. -
I agree with Lark, once I make them I can't quit eating them. Sometimes I put them in a pyrex pie plate, piled high and slice them like a piece of pie. They are pretty awesome in the original form. -
Oh my heavens...these treats are so addicting!
I have make Rice Krispy treats a few different ways:
Using captain Crunch, Coco Pebbles, Fruit Loops....
Added Butterscotch chips, Peanut Butter, Chocolate,Toffee pieces
the list goes on and on. *One of my tricks to keep them soft & fresh longer is by adding Marshmallow Fluff to the mixture. -
I make lemon puding add 1/2 package of Philly cream cheese mixed well and put it on top like a frosting. This cuts down a little on the sweetness of the treats. Mmmmm Youi can also add crushed pretzels on top. -

These are one of my favorite snacks to make! I like adding in butterscotch chips or chocolate chips for a little extra sweetness!

Like Paula T and Audrey, I like the original all the time. However, I also like to switch out the cereals (though I guess it isn't technically a rice crispie treat anymore...) and create something new. I love cocoa crispies in there, as well as fruity pebbles. Kix are quite tasty too and aren't quite so sweet :-)

I love to make the orignal THEN add the extra touch-melted caramels mixed with a touch of milk or cream and poured over the top-it goes right into the little crevices...THEN top it with some melted chocolate (chips are fine-any kind-white, milk, semi sweet)-YUMMY!

I like the traditional, plain, old Rice Krispie treats. I think the best bite is cleaning off the wooden spoon that was used to mix them. Mom always mixed in peanut butter, but I really like them "un-messed" with.
