We're excited to announce Lenore Nolan-Ryan as one of the Entree finalists for Real Women of Philadelphia!

Lenore is from Lauderdale by the Sea, Florida and has been an avid cook since she was a little girl. Lenore works hard and owns her own Cooking School and Catering Company. Her interesting double-barrelled last name is part her maiden name, part her ex-husband's last name - and in fact, they're still best friends! She just catered his wedding to his new wife - we love that!
We caught up with this multi-tasker and asked her about her life with food!

Describe your biggest kitchen disaster.

Last Thanksgiving, my sister, April and I, (at my insistence) brined and marinated turkey breasts for the grill. Medium heat and ready to go I laid the breasts skin side down, checked the temperature, closed the lid and headed in for a well deserved foot massage from my nephew. After a few minutes of relaxation I looked outside and saw my sister, ponytail bobbing, lifting the grill, flames shooting high. As you can imagine we were mostly stuffed with side dishes and laughter. Food is all about creating memories and this is one Thanksgiving we will never forget.

What is the best meal you've ever eaten and why?

A lovely restaurant in the South of France. Tetu' served the most amazing bouillabaisse. The flavors were sweet ands salty. The fresh sea air, the crashing of the waves and the attentive staff made this an experience that touched all the senses.

If you could cook only one dish, what would it be?

Artichokes, any way, any time. If I was on a desert island with only one thing to eat, let it be artichokes. My favorite preparation is boiled to tender, served with a lemon aioli and shaved Asiago cheese.

Who taught you how to cook?

My mother taught me to cook and always said "With a smile on your face it will always turn out right.

What are you going to say to Paula Deen when you meet her for the first time?

Thank you Paula for your inspiration, your vitality and your heart in every recipe you cook.

And here's more about Lenore in her own words!

Cooking is the best way I can share with everyone my passion for life. Giving back to the community, my clients, my family and friends is the best recipe for me to share my enthusiasm. I am blessed to do what I love and love what I do: cooking, teaching and entertaining. Being part of Real Women of Philadelphia will allow me to share my inspiration with other women who are kindred spirits!
