I just love my Sassy Crab Pizza because it combines a couple of my favorites in this entire world: Crab meat and Cream Cheese.

So. About crab meat. If you live on a coast, you probably don't even know what the big deal is about getting fresh fish. You just automatically have it! And for that, I'm crazy jealous. But, if you are like me - a land locked mermaid - then finding good crab options is a bit challenging.

I have to say I have tried them all and I have definite opinions on each.

My #1 mack daddy choice if I am truly trying to be the hostess with the mostess, is the fresh, lump crab meat found in the seafood counter at my local grocery. It is not cheap but ho HO it is good! These babies are tender, juicy, tangy and downright delicious. So, save this one for a special occasion.

My #2 choice would be the canned crab meat. It is a little bit stringy but it still has that "real taste" you are looking for.

My third choice is only for when I am in a pinch...and that is the faux crab meat. Or should I say KRAB meat. Now, don't call me a crab snob but this is really a last resort. When in doubt just get the canned stuff or go 1/2 and 1/2 in a recipe and then you have the best of both worlds!
