Hi Everyone!
Nothing can compete with traditional herbs and spices, but every once in a while it’s fun to use spices that are more…exciting! Lately we’ve been inspired by one fragrant spice in particular…curry!

Great for fish, goat, lamb and chicken, curry is used in dishes all across the world! Many cuisines turn to curry powder, and we have a few exceptional curry dishes HERE in our RECIPE GALLERY that are certainly worth a shot! Give curry a go with ELINOR IVES’ MADRAS CURRY CHICKEN DIP.

Spices + PHILADELPHIA = You Decide!
Curry isn’t the only spice that can ignite a meal! Tell us what other spice you would pair with PHILADELPHIA for a truly knockout recipe in the Comments below!

I just love the original cream cheese with nutmeg in a great savory pumpkin dish! Like sloppy joes or "meaty pies". -
Kathy Leeds, pm me your address if you'd like some. I grew a bush this year and would be happy to mail you some. You can have some of what I've already harvested and dried, or what began growing again after I harvested, or a combination. I would recommend a combination as the fragrance of the just cut is AMAZING! -
And KRAFT itself has a television ad for their Shredded Mozzarella Cheese. They use their Shredded Cheeses to top a quick pie crust - like a biscuit crust [unnamed source] - from the biscuit aisle of the grocery store. Top it with the tomato sauce of your choice, then with KRAFT Shredded Cheese, then with the other toppings that you want - maybe pepperoni, maybe mushroom, and bake. Then you've got the kids fed! Finally, here's an idea for making this pie for Christmas. It's not my idea, it's Pillsbury's television ad. They take a Phiilsbury Grands Baking Roll - rearrange the shape of it - place one into a paper-lined cupcake baking pan - then I would fill it with my Philly Sweet Filling as above - and bake it according to the Pillsbury baking directions for Grands Rolls . . . no more than 10 to 12 minutes. All of the pie crust prep work has been done for you and it observes all time concerns. And the cupcake pie pan - lined with paper cupcake liners - makes a perfect individualized serving here for all homemade pies . . . even the Pizzas that they adcertise for their Grands Biscuits' use. Thanks, Pillsbury. And thanks Meals on Wheels for allowing me to think this one through and bake a fine dessert dish 'on your dime' so to speak. Thanks! Carol C. - Cee Cee -
Also, I've been toying with the idea of replacing the above original recipe's Ricotta Cheese with the Kraft Original Philly Cooking Creme. Once I get it down pat here, I don't think I will really enter it in this year's remaining contest . . . rather, I am still contributing recipes to my local Meals-on-Wheels and the recipe will go to them for next Spring Season. Thanks! Carol C. - Cee Cee -
I have been wondering about the people with a sweettooth. [Like me!] Next contest I think I will try entering my mome's famous Sweet Italian Easter Pie . . . made with Philly, Honey, Cinnamon, and Nutmeg. It's Italian but the Italian Cooking Creme is not suitable for this food because this pie is sweet. Thanks! Carol C. - Cee Cee -
I think Herbs De Provence would go very well with KRAFT Italian 5 Cheese with a Touch of PHILADELPHIA and Bow Tie Pasta in a Bechamel Sauce. -
I think sas el Hanout would go delish with a Philadelphia Cooking Creme for an African-inspired meal! -
I love cooking spices, I love that they are aromatic, and I like having them in decorative jars. -

I love curry powder in certain dishes as long as it is used to flavor and not domain the dish! Noelle you are so right, cream cheese like yogurt will cool down the heat of spices just a bit. I also like Chinese Five Spice, crushed red pepper flakes, wasabi, ginger, and cayenne pepper? All offer a nice layer of heat and flavor. Interestingly about curry is that it is a blend of numerous spices which normally includes cardamom, chiles, cloves, cumin, mace, fennel, nutmeg, pepper, saffron and coriander. -
Oh Pam - I LOVE pineapple sage - just made a mango cream sauce for chicken using it. Yummy.
I also LOVE curry, To spice up Cream cheese - Siracha works well, or any spicy peppers, like habanero or chipotle, the cream cheese cools down the heat just a bit. Love it. -

Amy, cardamom creme brûlée sounds almost too good to be true! Any other flavorful spices that go well with Philadelphia? Cumin and Cooking Creme, or how about a dish with saffron and cream cheese? -
I love curry - such a great flavor! But you have to find one you like since it is not one spice but many. I find that some have a bitter flavor. I like McCormick Madras Curry powder and Maharajah Style Curry Powder by Penzeys.
I love to use SMOKED PAPRIKA with meats and in white pasta sauces. Tastes wonderful! -
I'm a big fan of cardamom! I just love to use the pods to infuse cream for a cardamom creme brûlée. -
This recipe sounds delicious! What I really like about it is that's it's very simple to make and that it uses practical ingredients and one's I usually have already. No trips to a specialty store required! Hate those and they're usually really quite expensive. Garlic is always a topper, curry, taco seasoning, blackening, mesquite, the list is endless. Philly is quite versatile as we all know already! -

I adore Indian cuisine, so I use a variety of spices such as the curry, star anise, cumin, ground fennel seeds, coriander, garam masala, etc. Mixed with the original Philly, you can transform any dish to an Indian delight. Now, I'm hungry!!! :)
