Happy Fourth of July!
There’s no question that there are plenty of ways to celebrate the Fourth of July, but some are definitely at the top of our list. Want to know a few of our favorites? Check them out:
• Create an impromptu picnic while watching fireworks with close family and friends
• Give skewers a new meaning! Our favorite? Thread strawberries, bananas and blueberries on skewers, and there you have it! A Fourth of July inspired treat!
• Host a family baseball game—the red team versus the blue team!
• Go red, white and blue crazy—we are all about themed occasions, so whether it’s decorations, food, drinks and more, there’s no such thing as TOO much today!
• R-E-L-A-X! How does sitting by the pool with a refreshing glass of pink lemonade sound? We thought so…!
Do you have a favorite way to celebrate the Fourth? We want to know below! And remember, there’s still plenty of time to vote for your favorite Italian-inspired recipe right HERE! One lucky lady and a guest will be jetting off to Italy…vote now!

Just made red, white, and blue popcorn (dry Jello is the secret), and did you know a little food coloring (red, blue--but not together) can make for very festive Philly cream cheese? I tried making a flag with block of Philly, but, ahem, well...it didn't quite turn out. But I get points for trying, don't I? And at least it's red, white, and blue. Happy Independence Day, America!! -
I HOPE A whole-lotta-deliciousness is going on in your kitchen and your backyard! I've arrived in Texas to enjoy the 22 days taking care of my daughter who is about to have her 2nd baby. Baby #1, Hadley, is 17-months ToDaY! Ribs are a-smokin' outside thanks to my son-in-law. I already made a red, white and blue potato salad with red potatoes, Haricot Verts, cherry tomatoes, Kalamata olives, and artichokes. Yum!
Last week I was camping in the Sierra's (California) and I made the most delicious camping food with the Lemon Cooking Cream ~ I added it to shrimp and served it on top of pesto zucchini ribbons. It was gorgeous but I forgot to get a photo.
I did make it off the mountain twice to civilization so I could vote!
Anyway, I hope everyone is having a yummy 4th of July! Appreciate you all! xoxoxo -

I have been preparing for our 4th celebration and just had a moment to myself--so here I am. My youngest Son is a grilling expert--he is smoking ribs and brats for us. I made my Dad's potato salad, and my Mom's deviled eggs. Then there are tomatoes and corn from the garden. Yesterday was my youngest son's birthday, so we are celebrating that today also. His favorite desert is my Diabetic Coma Cake and homemade vanilla ice cream, so made that. For others I made a Meyer Lemon cake and homemade strawberry (fresh from the garden) ice cream. A friend is bringing fresh melons and veggies. We are all musicians, so every 4th we host our musician friends, who come from all over the U.S., for a few days of music, food, and good companionship. No fireworks this year due triple digit temperature for the past 2 weeks and no rain for 3 weeks--our county has a ban on fireworks this year. Everyone and everything is suffering here in central Missouri. -
We will be cooking all our "All American Favorites", grilling and watching the town fireworks from our front porch. I hope everyone has a safe, fun, and wonderful Independence Day :) -
We are going to Walters ( my home town). The whole town goes to the park for a day filled with games and food. There are turtle races, sack races, pie eating contest baseball games and even a 4th of July Queen! When it gets dark they start the fireworks! I'm cooking fried chicken and brownies, my sister is smoking ribs, mom is making potato salad and my sister in law is bringing macaroni salad. We have been going to the park ever since I was 4 years old, it has became a family reunion! I hope every one has a beautiful and safe 4th! -
