Use the Mason jars for dry different color beans, pasta noodles and my favorite is the dry ingredients to make cookies or brownies with a cookie cutter and a bow and place on a shelf! Also, I love to put candles in them. My mother in law uses them for drinking cups and I love that look. -
I have many uses for mason jars. Not only do I use them for canning each year, they are also used to store nuts and nails and screws in, I make recipe in a jar for gifts in them, I store seeds that I gather each year in them, I use them for drinking glasses, and have used them to put a mini terrarium in it. SO no I never throw them away. I even have the old green ones with porcelain lids -

I aslo love the guessing games where you just pour a bunch of jelly beans in and guess the right number to win. Cheap, easy to run & regulate, and all ages can play. -

Good idea for a no to expensive personalized gift, homemade coffee body scrub in a pretty decorated mason jar or a beautiful terrarium, love this one -
Perfect for containing a whimsical collection of wine bottle corks, buttons, or skeleton keys. -
We let the kids make festive table decorations with them. For Christmas we take pine greens, candy canes, and ribbons and glitter and let the arrange them as they wish and line them up down the table for center pieces. -

I just acquired 300 canning jars. My daughter immediately went to the farmers market to get the ingredients to make her favorite pickles. I just purchased a book: Gifts in a jar. -
For a great outdoor look, take wire and wrap around the mouth of a mason jar and up and over to create a handle. place a tealight or votive candle in and hang outdoors. -
